Resolving Doubts, 2016 Frost's Descent I

God is the great designer.
The perfectly and delicately constructed world of deep sea is God’s masterpiece.
The beautiful nature is also God’s creation.
There are similarities between sea and land.
Both of them are boundless. They are homes of all creatures.
Isn’t it amazing!
I spent a long time studying marine ecology and environment in order to find creative inspiration.
Thus, the collaborative project, Happy Sea, was created for 28 quilters in my class.
I am very fortunate to complete the design.
It is an incredible experience. Thanks to my 28 mentors!
The draft is divided into 28 separate sections.
We draw lots to decide the maker of each piece.
It is challenging for the original designer to make each piece distinctive.
Coherence is another essential element.
It is undeniable that creating a huge draft to meet the learning objectives of 28 mentors is extremely stressful.
Who could be generous enough to give her painstaking draft to her students for free?
But I am thankful that I can give, serve and grow for the sake of fulfilling the group learning project.
Set the goals for group learning and introduce deep-sea environment.
Reinforce the unfamiliar knowledge and get to understand deep-sea ecology.
I do know that it is very difficult to find the key points within a very limited time frame.
Therefore, I arrange an outdoor observation activity to improve students’ ability of depicting the 3-dimensional world!
The result of this adventure is satisfactory.
Bring what you feel into your eyes.
Visualize the deep blue ocean with your heart.
Mistakes are easily to be found in a group work.
When a misunderstanding occurs, tolerance and forgiveness are important.
Misunderstandings most commonly occur when co-drawing trim lines.
Some might be stubborn and determined to do what she think is right regardless of opposition.
It has been a repeated problem for years.
Even 2 lines of the same length can look differently.
Such misperception might bring negative influences to a group work.
Another challenge of working on a large collaborative project is being on standby to solve any “loopholes.”
People have different ways and pace of thinking.
Helping them to make adjustments and improvements is another big issue!
It is usually not an easy task.
Time and space are needed for solving hidden problems.
Nevertheless, I am prepared to take the challenges.
Dear mentors, please cherish this group learning opportunity.
Let us learn together and link to tiny details.
Lay down your personal “knowledge” for the sake of achieving the group’s common goal.
Although it is not easy, we are already on the road.
There is no reason to turn back and give up.
I encourage you to keep going! Good luck!
The class on October 30 is very important. Please don’t be absent!
